10:53 am - underarm euphoria
i'm not one to rave about products, as none of them really impress me THAT much.
but man, i have to say something about this one. if you're one of those girls out there who was always yearning for your underarms to emit an odor of fruity deliciousness, but you could never use the girly deoderants b/c they didn't work, now is your chance to shine. if you're willing to dish out about $8 per stick, the secret clinical strength is the way to go. i used to sniff myself out of paranoia, now i sniff b/c it smells like watermelon. one little click and you're covered all day. i think they should send me a check for this kind of advertising.

if you're into scrabble, like i have been lately, you might want to try out the following adjustments (if playing with a lover)...
5 and 6 letter words earn kissing
7 letter words earn a sweet lay.
i won myself an orgasm on the word zygotes yesterday...not to mention some primo points.
~enjoy the gaming!

9:07 pm - plague of babies
it was a few years back that i got excited thinking wonderful thoughts. i was sure that my generation, as a whole, had wised up and figured out how not fun the kid things is. we were supposed to be more excited about things like travel, playing with our friends, fun electronics - being greedy and too self-indulgent for children. am i the only one who got that memo? you should have read it...it was good.
but now, here i sit with three friends on the baby train...i warned them never to get on - but did they listen? now there they go - halfway to clevelend and there's no way i can reach them now.
i'm miffed. i feel like i should seek out a seperate group of non-baby havers for friends.

i'm a fan of holiday type things of any ol sort. it's all jolly to me, but this year is making me gaggy...and gaggy for this reason alone - the god awfulness of holiday jewelry commercials. if i really knew people like that i might have to shoot them.

dear santa,
send me a damn scooter!
hugs and sugarplums,

the weather is so nice i kind of want to wet myself - really.
my best friend is pregnant....a sobering thought and though not my baby, seems to toss me a bit further into adulthood, which is only fair since i recently took the leap from 26 to 27. who am i kidding, it's not fair. i'm far from adultish and babies are gross.
i have to serve jury duty this week. i've picked out 3 books for the occasion - none with pictures and all by tom robbins, whom i've recently discovered i like a lot.
if i had to pick a color to describe today, i'd say orange.....go orange!
stay away from me speckled butter bean.
just realized my favorite cure album is on the lam....must resolve

i'm not feeling and haven't been feeling posty in any way, but i'm giving in for a quick debriefing.
-kids started back to school today, which obviously means i had to strip off my lazywear from the past 2 months and actually teach. as is always the case on the first day, they came in clean, not sick and somewhat obedient of authority. this will pass in 5-7 days and their true colors will shine.

-on the up....i turned on my tele a few minutes ago for the first time today and out of nowhere, POOF, i have cable....i had the lame-o cable before that makes your local channels clear, only b/c it makes my internet bill lower, but i have actual channels now...time wasting channels. i'm considering it my much deserved reward. assuming it doens't mysteriously show up on my next bill, which i would fight - tooth and fist. i'm pretty sure it's just a fluke...as things like that can't be ligitimately changed without my consent.

-i never did post about my trip to prague and vienna...mostly b/c i was drained in every possible way afterwards. i do not plan on ever traveling wtih my entire family again as it always leads to a public fight and i think my soul burns a little every time. if you have any interest, 12 of the 600+ pictures are posted HERE!

-We've never looked cheesier, in a not completely sucky way

as we were rafting this weekend, talk on the raft turned to mary jane jokes...

*mary jane was at home one day and she pushed her brother into the deep end of the pool. her mother said, "mary jane...you know your brother can't swim!" mary jane just laughed and laughed. she knew there wasn't any water in that pool.

*mary jane was climbing up a flag pole one day and her mom ran outside and said, "mary jane...don't climb so high...the boys will see your underwear."
mary jane just laughed and laughed. she knew she wasn't wearing any underwear.

*mary jane set fire to the barn one day. her mother came outside and screamed, "mary jane! you're going to be in big trouble when your father gets home!" mary jane just laughed and laughed. she knew her daddy was in that barn.

other important topics discussed - the awesomeness of socks, why barns are red, serial killers in the woods.

do you remember any good mary jane jokes? let me even broaden that....any good jokes of laughable nature.

it's been many moons, or just a few actually.
the delights of summer break are plentiful. and while i did teach summer school for 6 days (side note: for far more cash than i get during the school year, for far less work), i'd hardly call a class of 5 a strain.
other happenings have been taking me, well, honestly, not very far, but quite frequently away.
there was amy's wedding. the girl knows how to throw a party. there were no clowns whatsoever.
there was the free trip to biltmore (thanks to jen - the estate visual merchandiser!) we made the most of our time by fagging out behind some lattice work.
and a note of interest - the wine tastings have gotten pretty skimpy. you barely get enough to sip AND you're now limited to 5 wines.
and then BOOM, another wedding. this time the betrothed were kyla and jason. another good time had.
also got to see pete sampras take on john mcenroe. and while old, they can still entertain. best moment of the match was when mcenroe was trying to serve and a baby in the crowd kept crying and he let his ball drop and he yelled up at it (jokingly of course).they followed up by letting some local high school/college players of note play a doubles match with the pros. that will most likely be the highlight of all their tennis careers.
in the coming week i'll be white water rafting in hot springs and leaving for prague/vienna for another classic family bonding experience.
side note of frustration - i'm having a hard time pooping.

it's after 4:00 pm and i'm still in my pajamas. because i want to be!
summer vacation comes with many perks...days spent baking and hunting music are at the top of the list. so are days spent diving into pools of cotton candy, but you have to play the hand you're dealt.

as an avid internet radio listener, i urge you to do something. i have 2 asshole republican senators and i still wrote both of them, so there's no reason you shouldn't too.

so i've been at disneyworld the past few days for a conference and noticed many things...
-the lack of really fun rides there. sure, you've got your fun stuff - tower of terror, space mtn, fun yeti coaster, but overall, the park is pretty much shows and shopping... i'd go so far as to say a glorified trash mall.
-people at disney are sucky and mean. they made me think back to high school when my friend jen and i jokingly played a game called 'queen of the hallway,' where we would lock arms and walk straight down the hall refusing to move since we were so often hustled and bustled out of OTHER poeple's ways. how in the hell does this type of inconsideration still happen? people were just absolute jerks. for some reason each person there felt as if they were the only person on vacation and they were entitiled to the 20 ft circumference of space around them. not true. so, in my frustration, i reinstated the queen of the hall game but renamed it queen of the disney street and proudly walked along bumping and shoulder smacking everything that came into my path.
-heated pools are needed in my backyard.
-there are loads of overweight people, and i'm not talking vanity pounds here, i'm talking obese! and the fact that one little girl sported a shirt that read "i love carbs" while happily scratching her crotch as she walked by gave me little hope for the future. way to go mcdonald's, you win....but i still hate you.
-lines in march are not exceedingly long. didn't wait over 30 minutes for anything. and, hated the people who used fast passes to get in front of me until i was, on my final day, one of those people and avoided the one and only long line we encountered.
-i do a suck-o job of getting photos of fireworks, which were kind of awesome.
-did a fine job of getting a shot of a meerkat in action, peeping out of his hole.
the point is, had it not been a vacation handed to me, i wouldn't have gone. disney isn't my thing. i don't get it. i hate strollers. and i was astonished to see how many people really are aggravated with their children to the point of disgust. i want to help pass along the message that children are not a life requirement...you don't have to have them. pass it along. enjoy the childless life...i'm gonna!

some things of note...
started taking yoga - i fell over a lot...it's like i wearing skates.
driving a red rental car that smells superyum but has scary mystery stains in the seats, so the superyum is pretty much negated.
had to go bang on a neighbors door at 3:45 am and risk a yelling at because R&B at that hour kind of wrinkles my bloomers.
will soon get my first haircut in approximately 2 years, and this includes trims....needless to say i got some nappyness!
sewed a cotton candy tree.
and i did some fancy backwards bowling!

avoid sharp objects and cougars!
i guess friendly cougars are ok.

in the past few days i've come to the following conclusions:
eckerd pharmasists are the slowest moving people...EVER
making your own falafel is not unfun
moving king sized sleigh beds is worth more than a chic-fil-a sandwich
i've seen way too many people recently try to bust a sag
i have a penchant for sewing crooked
fire hydrants are not teeny children standing by the roadside in rain slickers and hats
i want some leg warmers
my tree is sad because it has 3 decorations
getting out return address labels is more of a hassel than just writing it yourself
my new table makes me want to sit in the kitchen all the time
